1989 AGGIE BASEBALL SWC CHAMPIONSHIP 30 YEAR REUNION PHOTO GALLERY

On Friday & Saturday, November 1st & 2nd, we welcomed the 1989 SWC Championship Baseball team back to Aggieland! More than 26 players, managers and coaches joined us to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their championship season. The 1989 Aggies fashioned a 58-7 record, the best in school history, and one of the best in collegiate baseball history. They were Southwest Conference champions, and on April 16th of ’89, ushered in the phrase ‘Olsen Magic’ when John Byington hit not one, but two, game winning homeruns to close both ends of a doubleheader against Texas.

It was great to see so many members of one of the greatest teams in Aggie Baseball history! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and help make this event such a success.

TEXAS A&M LETTERMEN’S ASSOCIATION

The Texas A&M Lettermen's Association was founded in 1974 by 180 men who had a unique vision for the future of athletics at Texas A&M University. As an extension of the old On-Campus T-Association, the Lettermen's Association was created to provide a means for former students who won Varsity Letters at Texas A&M to gather from time to time and support the University's athletic programs. While originally limited to male members, women joined the Association in 1983. Today the Association is one of the most visible and well-respected organizations in the University System, with active members spanning nearly 70 class years and representing all intercollegiate sports.
