1999 AGGIE BASEBALL BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP 20 YEAR REUNION PHOTO GALLERY
On Saturday, March 30th 14 members of the 1999 Fighting Texas Aggie Baseball team returned to Aggieland for the 20-year reunion of their Big 12 Championship. The 1999 Aggies are one of the most beloved athletic teams in Texas A&M annals. Guided by skipper Mark Johnson, they finished 52-18 overall and won the Big 12 Championship with a 23-6 record. The regular-season included three-game series sweeps of Top 25 opponents Oklahoma State and Nebraska along with series wins against rivals Baylor and Texas. The Aggies fought off elimination four times in NCAA Regional and Super Regional play advance to the school’s fourth College World Series. The team featured three All-Americans, including pitchers Casey Fossum and catcher Shawn Schumacher. They were joined on the All-Big 12 team by Daylan Holt, Steve Scarborough, John Scheschuk and Steven Truit. The Aggies had seven players sign professional contracts following the 1999 season, including four picked in the first 10 years of the MLB Draft, including first-rounder Chance Caple and Casey Fossum who was selected in the second round.
Thank you to all who joined us in March and for all you continue to do for the Aggie Baseball program.
